Families We Served: Lucia and nephews

Lucia lost all 5 of her children to death and then her husband. She is now caring for her two orphaned nephews, Mateo (12) and Juan (10). Union Church of Guatemala raised Thanksgiving funds in November 2007 for the construction of a home for Lucia and the boys in their village Aldea Vasquez. The home was completed by a team and local workers in January 2008. Thanks Union Church! And thanks to scholarships from our friends at Shield of Faith Ministries the boys are going to school for the first time this year, both starting in 1st grade.
