Pablo has served as security guard at the mission house for over two years and routinely put our security before his own. Pablo, wife Sara, and their sons Ronnie, Lester and Wilson are making monthly payments on a small plot of land outside the city. They have constructed a metal-sided, dirt-floor one-room home that the family lives in. They have an outhouse and cook over an open fire. Although Emmanuel's Heart primarily serves women and children in crisis, Pablo's sense of duty to the ministry has led us to want to help his family. Alcoholism, abuse, and desertion are so common among the men that we admire men like Pablo who responsibly care for their families despite little financial opportunity to improve their quality of life. Their three young boys are blessed by the example they have in their father. Pablo pays $40 a month toward the purchase of this piece of land. Donations for Pablo's family have helped him be able to make occasional double payments. Once he has paid off the property we hope to help him build a concrete block home on his land.
