One event at the mission house in 2007 included 84 Mayan villagers who came to recognize a missionary family that was leaving the country after the mother had died of cancer. Miguel drove many in the back of his pick-up truck, which he uses extensively for ministry. His pick-up is used for moving materials for building widow's homes on a daily basis and transporting villagers to church services and the local mission medical clinic and much more. Unfortunately the pick-up was stolen while locked in front of the mission house. We were able to financially replace the personal items that had been in the back of the pick-up and are so thankful for a donation that came in specifically to replace this ministry vehicle. In December 2007 Miguel and his family received their replacement 4-wheel-drive pick-up and have been busy putting it to use ever since. It is daily used for the missionary construction projects in the community, was used to transport the loom and bed for Tomasa's children, and the casket for Tomasa, and transports us when we find ourselves in the village without a 4-wheel-drive.
