Back to Past Teams
We were blessed by the missions team from Hillside Church in NY this August. Before arriving, they sewed curtains for all of the windows in El Refugio... that was a big project! While at the shelter, they installed curtain rods and hung all the curtains. The team threw a "community birthday party" for the children, complete with puppets, face painting, balloon animals, and cake. The kids were thrilled! Several women from the team spent a day pampering the women at the shelter with manicures, pedicures, massage, and a time of prayer for them.
The team was also able to put up a roof over the back patio, which provided a much-needed additional dining area. It has been a wonderful addition, especially during one of the "rainiest" rainy seasons we've seen. We are so grateful for the great work and servant hearts of this team!
The Hillside team was also able to help one of the families sponsored by EHI. Earlier this year another EHI team built a house for Maria Louisa, a single mom with four daughters. The Hillside team returned to Maria Louisa's house to paint the inside, and the finished product turned out beautifully.
